THE SEASON SYNOPSIS

Now, just three years removed from a 13-18 campaign, the Duke basketball program was back on top of the college basketball world, ranking No. 1 in the country for 16 weeks of the season. In fact, with the help of one of the best freshman classes of all time, the Blue Devils almost swept the entire conference.

Had Elton Brand not missed more than six weeks of action in January and February, they probably would have. Unfortunately, even though they were healthy by the time they reached the Elite Eight, Kentucky finally got revenge for a certain East Regional Final shot six years prior.
