THE SEASON SYNOPSIS
At this point, welcoming St. John’s transfer Roshown McLeod in addition to freshmen Chris Carrawell, Mike Chappell, and Nate James, Duke was back on the national stage after a 13-18 campaign two seasons prior. The Blue Devils began No. 10 in the AP Poll and drifted no farther than four spots from that ranking the entire season.
But even though the Blue Devils earned a promising No. 2 seed, their Big Dance came with a sour ending: an escape against No. 15 Murray State and then a loss to No. 10 Providence.
