Former Duke basketball star Grayson Allen revisited the prophetic statement he made prior to being a member of the Blue Devil program.

A majority of the time tweets don’t age very well; however, if you are Duke basketball legend Grayson Allen, sometimes things fall your way and your tweets age perfectly.

Allen took a look back at his Twitter on Wednesday to see one of his tweets that he posted as the Connecticut Huskies were celebrating the 2014 NCAA National Championship.

The then-senior in high school was hoping that his Duke Blue Devils would be on the same stage a year after and boy was he right.

Grayson Allen was one of the key factors in Duke’s run to the Final Four that saw the Blue Devils blow out Michigan State and culminated in a comeback National Championship victory over Wisconsin.

In the final game of his freshman season, Allen led the comeback charge for Duke with 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting and was named to the Final Four All-Tournament Team.

Of course, back on that late April night in 2014, Grayson Allen had his fair share of critics who laughed at his claim considering Duke was just bounced in the first round of the tournament against Lehigh.

But we all know who got the last laugh as the Florida native not only delivered on his dreams in his first season at Duke but also stuck around all four seasons and etched his name into Blue Devil lore forever.

Allen was drafted by the Utah Jazz with the No. 21 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft before getting traded to the Memphis Grizzlies following his rookie season.
