Duke basketball: Player comparisons for seven incoming Blue Devils
- No. 21 overall recruit nationally
- No. 4 point guard
Jeremy Roach is probably the player I am most looking forward to seeing play in Cameron Indoor Stadium next season. He truly does everything well, and he would be the prototypical point guard I would select out of all the recruits in this class to fill the shoes of Tre Jones.
He’s a winner and seems to make all the right plays as a true lead guard. Roach can go out and defend both guard spots and always seems to hustle back and, as I said, make the right plays.
Like Jalen Johnson, Roach needs to work on his outside shot. I see a lot of Kyle Lowry at Villanova in his game, but I expect an uptick in the assists department compared to what Lowry averaged his freshman year. An average stat line on par with Tre Jones’ freshman year (9.4 points, 5.3 assists, 3.8 rebounds) would not shock me one bit.
