A couple of weeks ago, after averaging 8.8 points and 6.2 boards across 29 games for the G League’s Canton Charge, Duke basketball alum Marques Bolden received a 10-day contract from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

On Feb. 1, the former five-star recruit made his NBA debut. But he played only three minutes, didn’t attempt a shot, and hasn’t seen the court since. The native of Desoto, Texas, who played three injury-riddled seasons in Durham before turning pro last spring, will probably see other chances for the Cavaliers down the road. However, the chance the 6-foot-11, 245-pound 21-year-old ever stars or even starts in the league seems slim to none.
