Unfortunately, after several clutch performances in the playoffs last season, a ruptured left Achilles tendon on Dec. 6 cut short the 2019-20 campaign of former Duke basketball sharpshooter Rodney Hood. But as mentioned at the beginning of this article, injuries do not affect rankings here. So let’s instead judge the 6-foot-8, 210-pound Mississippi native for what he was before the injury and by his positive outlook despite the injury.

“Obviously, I wish I was out there playing,” Hood recently told Trailblazers.com writer Casey Holdahl in anticipation of returning next season, “but I think I’ll be a better player once I go back because the game is slowing down for me. I’m able to watch a little bit more and take things from it. I’m looking forward to it. I’m trying my best to be patient, but it’s been good.”
