Tre Jones of the Duke basketball team was named as the ACC’s Player of the Week after leading the Blue Devils to two comeback road victories.
It’s not like Tre Jones needed any more recognition after what he did for the Duke Blue Devils this week, but the ACC named him as the conference’s Player of the Week after leading Duke to road victories over Boston College and North Carolina.
Jones began the week up in Boston as the Blue Devils faced the Eagles of Boston College and Duke trailed by three points at halftime, but the sophomore point guard led the charge in the second half giving Duke a 63-55 victory.

The Apple Valley, Minnesota native finished with 18 points, three rebounds, and four assists, on 7-of-15 shooting and 4-of-5 from the free throw line.
Then Saturday happened and Tre Jones not only cemented himself as the ACC Player of the Week but a Duke legend.
After willing the Blue Devils back in the game against the Tar Heels. Jones intentionally missed a free throw with under five seconds to go and got his own rebound to his a mid-range jumper to send the game to overtime.
In overtime, Jones got Duke an early five-point lead and once again led the comeback bid after hitting a free throw to tie the game but then unintentionally missing his second attempt, only with a chance to win the game but Wendell Moore followed his miss and won the game, 98-96.
All in all, Jones finished the night with 42 minutes played, 28 points, five rebounds, six assists, and three steals.

This marked the third time this season that Tre Jones was named as the ACC Player of the Week and things will not get any easier for the Blue Devils who welcome in the No. 8 Florida State Seminoles on Monday night at 7:00pm EST on ESPN.
