Wendell Moore set to return to action against Syracuse on Saturday night
The Duke basketball team will get a major boost on Saturday night with the return of Wendell Moore as the Blue Devils travel to face the Syracuse Orange.
Exactly 26 days removed from surgery on a broken bone in his hand, Duke basketball freshman Wendell Moore will return to game action Saturday night when the Blue Devils face the Syracuse Orange.
Moore was injured in Dukeβs win over Miami on January 4 and underwent surgery on January 6.
In the six games the freshman missed, Duke went 4-2, with both losses coming consecutively against the Clemson Tigers and the Louisville Cardinals.
Wendell Moore has played in 14 games for the Blue Devils, averaging 7.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 44.6 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from 3-point range.

The versatility Moore presents on the offensive and defensive side of the ball is unmatched and that could be proven on Saturday night against the 2-3 zone of the Syracuse Orange.
Throughout his rehab process, Mike Krzyzewski said the freshman wing was able to stay in shape since it was a hand injury, so the minutes Moore receives will be interesting to monitor as the game progresses.
Prior to the injury, the 6-foot-6 forward was averaging 22.1 minutes per game and the Blue Devils now enter one of its most difficult stretches of the season, starting with three consecutive road games against Syracuse, Boston College, and North Carolina, followed by a home game against the powerful Florida State Seminoles.

Barring any further injuries and ailments, Duke will finally get a chance to come together as a team and work on its lineups and rotations prior to getting into the stretch run of the season and then into the postseason.
The return of Wendell Moore will take place at 8:00pm EST as Duke faces Syracuse inside the Carrier Dome on ESPN.
