Two former Duke Football players, Laken Tomlinson and Daniel Helm, are headed to Super Bowl LVI with the San Francisco 49ers.
The biggest game of the football season is getting closer and closer and two former Duke football standouts will have a chance at winning their first Super Bowl title.
Laken Tomlinson and Daniel Helm of the San Francisco 49ers will take the field on February 2 in Miami to try and bring the sixth Super Bowl to the franchise and its first since 1994.

Tomlinson has started every single game for the 49ers at offensive guard and has only missed one snap this season, coming in San Francisco’s Week 1 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The former Duke Blue Devil was a first-round draft pick of the Detroit Lions in 2015 and was traded to the 49ers in 2017 in exchange for a 2019 fifth-round draft pick.
San Francisco’s offensive line has been one of the best in the NFL this season and the best in the playoffs, as the 49ers rushed for 186 yards and two touchdowns in the Divisional Round victory over the Minnesota Vikings and 285 yards and four touchdowns in the NFC Championship Game against the Green Bay Packers.
Laken Tomlinson was a Second-Team All-ACC player in 2013, a consensus All-American in 2014, and the winner of the Anthony J. McKevlin Award in 2015, which is given to the best male athlete in the ACC.
Tomlinson was the last Duke athlete to win the award until 2019 when men’s basketball star Zion Williamson took home the hardware.
Daniel Helm has not played in a game for the 49ers after signing as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Chargers and agreed to a deal with San Francisco after being waived by the Chargers.
The San Francisco 49ers will play the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVI on Sunday, February 2 at 6:30pm EST and the game can be seen on FOX.
