Wake’s lone victory came against the Pittsburgh Panthers on the road.
The Demon Deacons do have one signature win on the season and that game against the then No. 23 Xavier Musketeers, a team that is projected to finish near the top of the Big East Conference.
However, there have been some head-scratching losses for Danny Manning‘s team specifically against Charlotte while its other losses have come against good competition in Arizona and Penn State.
Wake Forest has a ‘Big Three’ of guards Brandon Childress and Chaundee Brown while down low the Demon Deacons rely on center Olivier Sarr.
Childress leads the team with 16.0 points and 4.6 assists per game while shooting 40.4 percent from the field and 30.0 percent from 3-point range.
Brown is a more reliable threat from 3-point range, shooting 34.6 percent while making 46.2 percent of his shots from the field. The 6-foot-5 junior averages 13.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game.
As for Sarr, he leads the team in rebounding and blocks at 9.4 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game while averaging 12.3 points per game on 52.7 percent shooting.
Across the board, Wake Forest shoots 42.6 percent from the field, 34.7 percent from 3-point range, and 75.1 percent from the free throw line as a team.
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons will be looking for its signature win of the season against the No. 2 Duke Blue Devils on Saturday, January 11 with tipoff slated for 8:00pm EST in Cameron Indoor Stadium and the game to be broadcasted on the ACC Network.
