The Duke Basketball team strolled into South Beach and dominated the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday evening in its continued dominance of ACC play.

When the No. 2 Duke Blue Devils faced the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday night, it wasn’t the heart-stopper fans experienced just before tipoff on ESPN between the Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans.

The AFC Wild Card Game forced a slight delay in tipoff due to the NFL game going into overtime, but that was no issue for the Blue Devils who scored an easy 50 points in the first half over the Hurricanes.

Duke was led by its star freshmen Vernon Carey Jr. and Cassius Stanley in its 95-62 victory over Miami.

Carey Jr., playing just an hour away from his hometown, completely took over the game with his size and athleticism, ending his night with  24 points, nine rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block.

The Florida native made his living in the paint, finishing 11-of-14 from the field and made 2-of-4 from the free throw line.

Cassius Stanley was equally as dominant, using his speed and aggressiveness to finish with 20 points in addition to his five rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

All ten players in Mike Krzyzewski‘s rotation scored, as Matthew Hurt also quietly had a very good night, as the only other player to reach double-figures, and the freshman forward followed up his career 25-point night on Tuesday with 13 points on Saturday.

Tre Jones struggled with foul trouble, sitting the final nine minutes of the first half, but in his second game back from injury the sophomore finished with nine points, five assists, and two steals.

As a team Duke created 23 assists on 40 made field goals and outrebounded Miami 41-24.

The Blue Devils improved to 13-1 on the season and 3-0 in the ACC, with two road victories. Duke will try and make it three road victories on Wednesday night as the Blue Devils travel to face the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
