Derryck Thornton back in Cameron Indoor for revenge against Duke
Former Blue Devil Derryck Thornton will be back in Cameron Indoor Stadium on Tuesday night looking for revenge against the Duke Basketball team.
Revenge games have become the latest storyline in the sports world and in college sports they are very rare but have become increasingly popular due to the spike in transfers.
However, the No. 2 Duke Blue Devils will be in a revenge game of its own against former Blue Devil Derryck Thornton and the Boston College Eagles.

Thornton was a member of the Duke basketball team in the 2015-16 season as a freshman but then transferred to the University of Southern California at the end of the season.
As a Blue Devil, Thornton played in 36 games, starting 20, and averaged 7.1 points and 2.6 assists per game on 39.0 percent shooting from the field and 32.5 percent from 3-point range.
Thornton’s best moment as a Blue Devil came in a victory over North Carolina when a severely shorthanded Duke team entered the Dean Dome and pulled out a one-point victory over the Tar Heels.
Derryck Thornton blocked Joel Berry on the final possession with less than two seconds left in the game and a Duke team that only played five players won the game.
After leaving Duke, Thornton played at USC for two seasons before landing at Boston College for his final year of eligibility.
Boston College holds an 8-5 record (2-0 ACC) as Thornton is averaging a team-high 13.8 points per game on 40.1-percent shooting from the floor. Thornton is also averaging 3.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.
The Eagles have two other players who are averaging double-figures in Jay Heath and Nik Popovic.
Heath is averaging 12.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.5 steals per game on 43.0-percent shooting and 39.0-percent from 3-point range.

Popovic is the second leading rebounder on the Eagles, behind Steffon Mitchell, with 5.9 rebounds per game in addition to his 11.8 points per game on 44.3-percent shooting.
Duke will try and spoil Derryck Thornton’s return to Cameron Indoor Stadium at 6:00pm EST on Tuesday, December 31 with the game being broadcasted on the ACC Network.
