The former Duke Basketball star and current New Orleans Pelicans standout Brandon Ingram put an exclamation point on his All-Star caliber season with a Christmas Day win.
After being traded from the Los Angles Lakers to the New Orleans Pelicans in the offseason, Brandon Ingram was able to start fresh and he’s taken advantage of every opportunity he has seen.
While the season hasn’t panned out exactly how the Pelicans planned, Brandon Ingram continues to impress on a night in and night out basis, which will soon result in an All-Star appearance.

Ingram’s All-Star bid saw the Blue Devil put an exclamation point put on it with a Christmas Day win on the road over the Denver Nuggets in which the Pelicans star dropped 31 points which came on a career-high seven 3-pointers.
New Orleans was able to hold off Denver’s comeback attempts with a 112-100 victory.
To go along with his 31 points, Brandon Ingram also added seven rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block on his 11-of-19 shooting night and 7-of-9 from 3-point range. Ingram also made both of his attempts from the free throw line.
On the season, Ingram is averaging 25.6 points per game with a 48.9 field goal percentage as well as a 41.0 3-point field goal percentage.
The former Duke Blue Devil is also averaging 7.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game in his 28 games played.
Against Denver on Wednesday night, Ingram was helped by another former Blue Devil in sharpshooter JJ Redick who scored 15 points in the victory.
Jahlil Okafor and Frank Jackson played ten and six minutes, respectively, but neither player scored in the game.
As for the Nuggets, Mason Plumlee came off the bench to post four points and five rebounds in 16 minutes.
In a disappointing season, the New Orleans Pelicans may have turned a corner with winning two games in a row and three of its last four, all coming on the road, but the team still holds a 9-23 record.
The Pelicans will return to New Orleans to face the Indiana Pacers on Saturday, December 28 with a 7:00pm EST tipoff.
