Joey Baker

The Most Valuable Player of Thursday night and the Most Improved Player from a season ago, Joey Baker once again finds himself on the ‘Stock Up’ list.

A career high in points and in 3-pointers made it an easy choice to make Baker the first on the list as Mike Krzyzewski said after the game that Baker has become the team’s quickest and best shooter, and he’s not wrong.

Baker did all his damage in only 18 minutes and has improved his shooting percentages to 54.0% from the floor and 53.3% from 3-point range, and perhaps the most underrated part of his game is his flawless percentage from the free throw line.

Joey Baker has become a crucial part of this Duke team and the success he has going forward will help the Blue Devils reach its ultimate goals in the 2019-20 season.

Jordan Goldwire

Jordan Goldwire has developed into one of the best backup point guard in the entire country over the past few weeks.

The junior guard has quietly had a sensational season and he backed up his play against Virginia Tech with another stellar outing against Wofford.

Goldwire accumulated eight points, three rebounds, and five assists in 28 minutes in addition to not turning the ball over in the victory.

With Tre Jones back in the fold, Goldwire will once again come off the bench, but with his confidence at an all-time level, Coach K can now turn to the junior to relive his sophomore for a period of time or combined the two for a deadly defensive duo.

Matthew Hurt

There have several players that have emerged as X-Factors for this Blue Devil team but none may be as important as Matthew Hurt.

The freshman from Minnesota came off the bench on Thursday night and in 20 minutes he had 12 points and eight rebounds on 6-of-9 shooting.

Hurt was 6-for-6 on 2-point field goals but missed all of his 3-point attempts on the evening, but the forward looked much more confident and comfortable on the floor.

Like Baker, if Hurt can harness his potential the Blue Devils can elevate to another level that most teams cannot match.
