Duke Football tight end Noah Gray was named as a Walter Camp Second Team All-America on Thursday night at the College Football Award Show.

While no Duke Football players won any awards on Thursday night at the College Football Awards Show, one Blue Devil was recognized for his outstanding play on the field this season.

Tight end Noah Gray was named to the Walter Camp Second Team All-America after his sensational junior season for the Blue Devils.

More from Ball Durham

Gray posted career highs across the board with 51 receptions, 392 yards, and three touchdowns. The Massachusetts native has improved in each statistical category in each season he has been in Durham.

The 6-foot-4 tight end had his best two games in the season in a win over Virginia Tech where Gray caught six passes for 50 yards and two touchdowns and in a loss to Wake Forest when he reeled in a season-high seven passes for a season-high 70 yards and a touchdown.

Harrison Bryant of Florida Atlantic University was the tight end that was named to the Walter Camp First Team All-America over Gray.

Noah Gray became the 13th Blue Devil to be honored by the prestigious organization and the first Duke tight end to be placed on an All-America team.

Former Duke linebacker Joe Giles-Harris was named to the Second Team All-America last season and in 2015 safety Jeremy Cash was the last Blue Devil named to the First Team All-America.

Gray is the first offensive player named to a Walter Camp All-America Team since 2014 when Laken Tomlinson was named to the First Team and the Duke tight end is the first skill position player to be named to one of the teams since wide receiver Clarkston Hines made the First Team in 1989.

Noah Gray will be formally introduced as a Walter Camp Second Team All-America on January 18, 2020 at the organization’s 53rd Annual National Awards Banquet Dinner at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.
