Jayson Tatum leads Celtics over Cavaliers with 19-point double-double

Former Duke Basketball star Jayson Tatum led the Boston Celtics to a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers with a 19-point double-double on Monday night.

The Boston Celtics continue to win thanks to the elite production of former Duke Basketball star Jayson Tatum and it continued on Monday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Tatum posted a 19-point double-double in which he shot 7-of-14 from the field, 4-of-6 from the 3-point line, and split a pair of free throws.

Boston was able to defeat Cleveland 110-88 in TD Garden as the former Duke Blue Devil racked up 11 rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocks in 30 minutes of action.

Tatum’s 30 minutes played were one of the highest on the team while he led the team in rebounds on Monday night while being just off the team-high in points, steals, and blocks.

All 11 of Jayson Tatum’s rebounds came on the defensive glass.

Kemba Walker and Jaylen Brown were the only other Celtics to outscore Tatum, scoring 22 and 20 points, respectively.

On the season, Jayson Tatum is averaging 21.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 41.5% from the field and 36.9% from 3-point range.

With the victory, Boston remained undefeated at home this season, currently sitting at 10-0, while posting a 17-5 overall record, which is second in the Eastern Conference behind the 21-3 Milwaukee Bucks and third in the NBA with the 21-3 Los Angeles  Lakers.

The Celtics are currently riding a four-game win streak, with the last loss coming to the Brooklyn Nets on November 29.

Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics will hit the road to face the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday, December 11 at 7:00pm EST in the first game of a back-to-back as the Philadelphia 76ers enter the TD Garden on Thursday, December 12 at 8:00pm EST and the game can be seen on TNT.
