Jamison Crowder has quiet game as Jets beat Dolphins in final seconds

The New York Jets were able to beat the Miami Dolphins on Sunday afternoon but former Duke Football wide receiver Jamison Crowder had a quiet afternoon.

Former Duke Football wide receiver Jamison Crowder had another quiet day on Sunday afternoon for the New York Jets.

Crowder caught three passes for 30 yards and did not find the end zone against the Miami Dolphins, but the Jets were able to beat the Dolphins, 22-21 thanks to a field goal by kicker Sam Ficken as time expired.

Quarterback Sam Darnold targeted the former Blue Devil seven times, which was second on the team only trailing Robby Anderson who saw 11 targets.

Jamison Crowder was tied for second on the Jets for receptions and tied for third in receiving yards on the afternoon, trailing Anderson in both categories as well as Vyncint Smith in yardage.

Crowder was tied with running back Ty Montgomery with three receptions and 30 receiving yards although Montgomery had more all-purpose yards with his 31 rushing yards.

In the Jets’ previous game against the Dolphins, Crowder caught eight passes on nine targets for 83 yards and a touchdown.

Sunday marked the third straight game Jamison Crowder did not have more than three receptions in a game or more than 30 yards.

The last time Crowder found the end zone was in a win over the Washington Redskins, the final game in which the former Blue Devil scored one touchdown in three straight games.

At 5-8 on the season, the New York Jets were officially eliminated from playoff contention with wins from the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Trying to stack wins for next season, the Jets will have a short week and face the best team in the AFC on Thursday night in the 11-2 Baltimore Ravens from M&T Bank Stadium at 8:20pm EST on December 12.
