Top four takeaways from Duke basketball win over Kansas

Second takeaway: The Duke offense still needs a lot of work

It is still early but the concern with this team coming into the year was the offense and that was evident last night. The half-court offense was non-existent at times and prevented the Blue Devils from taking advantage of the 28 Kansas turnovers — only turning those into 29 points.

There was a lot of standing around at times and a lack of ball movement forced Duke basketball sophomore point guard Tre Jones to try and create something by himself, oftentimes leading to a bad shot or a turnover.

A huge question mark is going to be if the Blue Devils are going to be able to score enough when the opposing team isn’t turning the ball over at such a high rate because they are not going to force nearly 30 turnovers every single night the play.

I do expect a lot of wins this season to be like the one we all witnessed on Tuesday night, with the Duke basketball players grinding out victories and keeping the scores of most games in the 60s.
