Former Duke Baseball star Marcus Stroman was able to end the 2019 season on a positive note as he picked up a win in his final start of the season.
Marcus Stroman ended a strange 2019 season on a positive note with a victory over the Atlanta Braves at Citi Field.
The New York Mets defeated its division rival and the National League East Division Champions 6-4 on Friday night.

Stroman threw six innings, allowing six hits and two runs, while walking just one and striking out eight. Both of the runs the former Blue Devil allowed came in the first inning on RBI singles from Josh Donaldson and Nick Markakis.
The Mets struck for the next four runs of the game, highlighted by a solo home run from rookie Pete Alonso, No. 52 on the season, tying Aaron Judge‘s MLB rookie home run record.
After being traded from the Toronto Blue Jays to the New York Mets at the MLB Trading Deadline, Marcus Stroman went 4-2 with the Mets, starting 11 games with the team, ending the season with a 3.80 ERA.
Stroman was an All-Star with the Toronto Blue Jays, but was not able to participate in the game due to an injury.
With both teams this season Stroman was 10-13 with a 3.23 ERA, his best earned-run average since 2017 when he posted a 3.09 ERA with the Blue Jays in 2017.
The New York Mets were eliminated from the MLB Playoff chase on Wednesday, September 25 due to the Milwaukee Brewers victory over the Cincinnati Reds. Currently the Mets have a 84-76 record.
Marcus Stroman is eligible for arbitration with the New York Mets this offseason and is schedule to become an unrestricted free agent after the 2020 season.
New York is hoping to make a run at the playoffs next season and are planning on Marcus Stroman to be a big factor in those hopes.
