Former Duke Basketball superstar Zion Williamson has signed another endorsement deal, this time linking up with Gatorade.
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft is brining in all the endorsement deals before he even steps on the court with the New Orleans Pelicans.
On Thursday afternoon, former Duke Blue Devil, Zion Williamson announced his latest deal with Gatorade.
This brings Williamson to four known deals as Gatorade joins Panini Trading Cards and 2K Sports, in addition to his record setting deal with Jordan Brand.
The length and value of the deal is unknown, but Williamson took to social media to share the news.
The former Blue Devil will join a long list of sports stars that are sponsored by Gatorade such as Bryce Harper, Serena Williams, Cam Newton, J.J. Watt, and Williamson’s fellow Dukie, Jabari Parker.
Williamson enters his rookie season with major expectations as the Pelicans look to return to the playoffs with a new-look roster after landing the National Player of the Year and trading franchise center piece Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers in the offseason.
After averaging 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 2.1 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game at Duke, Williamson played one half in the NBA Las Vegas Summer League before being ruled out, as a precaution, for the remainder of the summer with a knee bruise.
Williamson is still very connected to Duke, as according to his Instagram story on Thursday afternoon, shortly before the deal was announced, he was at the Blue Devils’ second official practice of the season.
The future of the franchise will return to New Orleans as the Pelicans will start training camp on October 1.
Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans will gets its regular season underway on October 22 in Toronto against the reigning NBA Champion Raptors at 8:00pm EST, but his first preseason game will come on October 7 against the Atlanta Hawks.
