The Virginia Tech Hokies will be looking for a signature win on Friday night when they host the Duke Football team in the Hokies’ second ACC game of the season.

Coming off of a bye week and a horrid performance at home against Furman, the Virginia Tech Hokies will be looking to get back in its groove against the Duke Blue Devils on Friday night.

Virginia Tech enters the game with a 2-1 record and an 0-1 mark in ACC play after dropping the season opener on the road against Boston College.

With high expectations coming into the season head coach Justin Fuente‘s group fell flat in Chestnut Hill, falling behind 28-14 in the second half and ultimately losing the game 35-28.

The Hokies would bounce back with a win at home over Old Dominion after an unconvincing 31-17 win.

Things looked like it would get a little easier right before the bye week, but Virginia Tech made things very difficult on itself the following week at home against Furman.

Virginia Tech trailed 14-3 at halftime but would figure things out in the second half, to a degree, finding a way to win the game, 24-17.

Ryan Willis is the leader of this Virginia Tech team as the quarterback is completing 64.6% of his passes with seven touchdowns and four interceptions, with a total of 739 passing yards in three games.

Willis has leaned on running backs Keshawn King and Deshawn McClease, both who have over 100 rushing yards on the season.

King has taken the ball 28 times for 175 yards and a touchdown while McClease has 41 rushes for 120 yards and has yet to find the end zone.

On the outside, Ryan Willis loves his two targets Tayvion Robinson and Tre Turner. Robinson is the leading receiver on the Hokies with 14 receptions for 165 yards and one touchdown while Turner has caught 12 passes for 138 yards and a touchdown.

Hezekiah Grimsley is also a threat on the outside for Virginia Tech as he has six receptions for 143 yards and two touchdowns.
