New York trailed 28-10 in the third quarter and it is the first time in 49 years that the Giants erased at least a deficit of 18 points and won the game.
The former Blue Devil led the Giants on an eight-play, 57-yard touchdown drive to take the lead, which was sealed by a seven-yard touchdown run by Jones on 4th & 5.
Tampa Bay would go 59-yards in under 80 seconds to try and win the game on a last second field goal, but kicker Matt Gay missed a 34-yarder as time expired.
Daniel Jones also posted the second highest fantasy points ever for a quarterback making his first career NFL start and was second among current NFL quarterbacks in fantasy points in Week 3.
Jones joins Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys and Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks as the three NFC Offensive Players of the Week thus far in the NFL season.
The No. 6 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft was joined by Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson as the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his comeback win on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Daniel Jones will look to have an encore performance in his home debut at MetLife Stadium this Sunday, September 29, at 1:00pm EST against the Washington Redskins. The game will be televised on FOX.
