The Duke Football team will be in prime-time as the Blue Devils host the Pittsburgh Panthers on October 5 at Wallace Wade Stadium.

Sitting at 2-1 with ACC play set to begin, the Duke Blue Devils will be hosting the Pittsburgh Panthers at 8:00pm EST from Wallace Wade Stadium on October 5, the ACC announced on Monday afternoon.

The showdown with the Panthers will just be Duke’s second home game of the season, with the first coming back on September 7 in a 45-13 win over North Carolina A&T.

Pittsburgh is currently 2-2 on the season with a major upset win over the then No. 15 UCF Knights  and a narrow defeat the week before on the road against then No. 13 Penn State Nittany Lions.

The Panthers will most likely come into Wallace Wade Stadium at 3-2 with a non-conference home game against the University of Delaware this Saturday and the matchup with the Blue Devils will be Pittsburgh’s second ACC game of the season.

The Virginia Cavaliers got the best of Pittsburgh in its first game of the season, falling 30-14 at home.

Duke will have a much more difficult path of coming into next Saturday’s showdown with a victory as the Blue Devils will be on the road to face the Virginia Tech Hokies.

One positive note for the Blue Devils is that they will have an extra day to prepare for the Panthers as Duke faces the Hokies on Friday night in Blacksburg.

Duke and Pittsburgh met last season in Heinz Field with the Panthers coming a way with a win in a thrilling 54-45 game.

This will be a critical matchup for both teams as the ACC Coastal Division seems wide open despite  Virginia’s 2-0 start in conference play.
