Zion Williamson named to NCAA’s All-Decade team
The former Duke Basketball superstar sensation Zion Williamson was named to the NCAA All-Decade team after just one season as a Blue Devil.
Andy Katz of NCAA.com released his All-Decade Team and he included the 2019 No. 1 overall draft pick and former Duke Basketball legend, Zion Williamson.
Williamson, now of the New Orleans Pelicans, starred at Duke from the start of his career as a Blue Devil with a 34-point win over the Kentucky Wildcats on opening night.

The Spartanburg, South Carolina native was the consensus National Player of the Year and All-American while averaging 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 2.1 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game while shooting 68.0% from the field and 33.8% from 3-point range.
Katz also included Villanova’s Jalen Brunson, Connecticut’s Kemba Walker, Kentucky’s Anthony Davis, and Wisconsin’s Frank Kaminsky in his starting five joining Zion Williamson.
The college basketball reporter also included two players off the bench, Kansas’ Frank Mason and Creighton’s Doug McDermott.
Walker and McDermott are the only player to average more points than Williamson in their final collegiate year as Walker averaged 23.5 points in his senior season with the Huskies and McDermott averaged 26.7 points per game in his final season.
Zion Williamson and Anthony Davis are the only one-and-done players that made Katz’s All-Decade team as both players became the No. 1 overall pick of the New Orleans basketball franchise.
Davis was selected by the then New Orleans Hornets while Williamson was drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans.
Zion Williamson, Frank Mason, Doug McDermott, and Frank Kaminsky are the only players not to win a National Championship that were named to the All-Decade team and while Duke fans are sad Williamson didn’t get a chance to cut down the nets, they are thrilled Kaminsky didn’t raise the trophy in 2015.
Duke defeated Frank Kaminsky’s Wisconsin team in the 2015 National Championship Game.
Zion Williamson will now try and adjust his game to the NBA level and become the several time All-Star and All-NBA player that Anthony Davis is.
