The Alabama Crimson Tide have sustained some injuries prior to the season opener against the Duke Football team but that should not slow down the Tide in Week 1.

Nick Saban‘s Alabama Crimson Tide were dealt some tough cards before the season even kicked off.

The latest injury the Tide has to handle is the ACL tear to start linebacker Dylan Moses.

More from Ball Durham

Moses, a junior from Louisiana, was projected as a First Round 2020 NFL Draft pick prior to the injury and even after the injury is still anticipated to be a top-tier first rounder.

The 6-foot-3 linebacker accumulated 83 total tackles last season and freshman Shane Lee and sophomore Markail Benton will most likely replace the All-American.

In a recent Q&A with Bama Hammer, Crimson Tide football expert Ronald Evans told Ball Durham that Alabama has caught the injury bug this preseason.

Evans said that freshman running back Trey Sanders and linebacker Josh McMillion were the biggest injures Alabama has to deal with.

While these injuries could come back to haunt the Alabama Crimson Tide later in the season, things should be like business as usual on Saturday afternoon against the Duke Blue Devils.

David Cutcliffe has resurrected the Duke Football program into a hard-nosed, gritty team that will always compete, but Alabama is a special program that buries all its competition.

The Crimson Tide Football team is very similar to the Duke Basketball program in the sense that both teams have an immense amount of talent and the back-ups would be starters in virtually any other program in the country.

Duke will certainly compete and try and keep this game competitive, but ultimately the superior talent of Alabama will prevail.

The Blue Devils and the Crimson Tide will kickoff at 3:30pm EST on Saturday, August 31in the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff in Atlanta, Georgia and can be seen on ABC.
