Former Duke Football wide receiver T.J. Rahming was signed by the Miami Dolphins after his release from the Washington Redskins.

T.J. Rahming signed with the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent shortly after the 2019 NFL Draft.

The Redskins released the former Blue Devil halfway through training camp but he didn’t have to wait too long for a new home.

Rahming and the Miami Dolphins agreed to a deal on Tuesday afternoon.

To make room for Rahming on the roster, the Dolphins waived Saeed Blacknall.

In the preseason with the Redskins, Rahming only saw the field in one game, Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns. He caught one pass for six yards.

He was waived prior to Washington’s Week 2 preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Miami needs depth at the wide receiver position after suffering a multitude of injuries throughout training camp and in the preseason.

Rahming posted the best year in his collegiate career last season, catching 75 passes for 811 yards and eight touchdowns.

In his Duke career, the 22-year-old caught a total of 253 passes for 2,919 yards and 13 touchdowns in addition to 15 total rushes for 87 yards.

Rahming’s best game of his senior season came in the Walk-On’s Independence Bowl where he led the Blue Devils with 12 receptions and 140 yards while finding the end zone twice. He was also given the ball twice as a running back and was able to gain 17 yards.

The newest Dolphin can also return punts, totaling 38 returns for an averaged of 6.2 yards per return in his Duke career.

The former Blue Devil even threw a touchdown pass this season against the Virginia Cavaliers, a 22-yard completion on a fly route.

In an anticipated “dress rehearsal” for the regular season, the Miami Dolphins will host the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3 of the preseason on Thursday, August 22 at 8:00pm EST. The game will be televised on FOX.
