Former Duke Football quarterback Daniel Jones was back on the field for the New York Giants on Friday night and he impressed many watching once again.

Two preseasons games down for the New York Giants, two impressive outings for Daniel Jones.

The former Blue Devils followed up his 5-for-5 outing last week against the New York Jets with an 11-for-14 performance against the Chicago Bears on Friday night in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

In addition to his eleven completions, Jones threw for 161 yards and a touchdown.

Unlike last week, current starting quarterback Eli Manning also found the end-zone, going 4-for-4 for 42 yards and a touchdown.

On the negative side for Jones, he was sacked once and also lost two fumbles on the night.

Manning led the Giants on an opening possession 10-play touchdown drive, while Jones played the remainder of the first half which was five series in total.

The Giants scored 10 points with Jones under center as the possession prior to the touchdown, Big Blue was able to kick a field goal.

Head coach Pat Shurmur, General Manager Dave Gettleman, and Owner John Mara have insisted that there is no quarterback controversy and that Manning will be the starter in Dallas as the Giants take on the Cowboys Week 1.

However, Jones has done all the right things on the field in practice and in games and is certainly giving the Giants brass at least something to think about, or the comfortability to pull Manning in place of him if things aren’t going well.
