Duke Football running back Deon Jackson was the only Blue Devil voted to the preseason All-ACC team after his breakout 2018 season.

The ACC announced its preseason All-Conference selections and there was only one Duke Blue Devil named to the list.

Coming off of a breakout sophomore season, Deon Jackson was named as a preseason All-ACC all-purpose player and is looking to carry the Duke offense this season.

More from Ball Durham

Jackson received 47 of 173 votes to be selected to the team.

The running back played in 13 games last season with 847 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns in addition to 26 receptions for 253 yards and two touchdowns.

Last season came as a surprise to many after Jackson only played eight games as a freshman with 101 total all purpose yards.

Duke is undergoing some changes, especially on the offensive side of the ball with the departure of Daniel Jones to the NFL along with many other skill position players but Jackson is primed for a big season in Durham.

The ACC preseason rankings were released earlier this week and the media predicted Duke to finish No. 6 in the ACC Coastal Division, but the Blue Devils did receive two first place votes.

Clemson led the way on the All-ACC team, putting 13 players on the 27 man list, lead by ACC Preseason Player of the Year Trevor Lawrence.

While Duke only has one player on the All-ACC team Georgia Tech, Louisville, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest did not have any of its players named to the offensive, defensive, or special teams list.

Deon Jackson and the Duke Blue Devils will kickoff its season on August 31 in the Chick-Fli-A Kickoff Game against the mighty Alabama Crimson Tide, who are looking to avenge its National Championship blowout loss, at 3:30pm EST from the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on ABC.
