The former Duke Basketball star forward, Amile Jefferson, has re-signed with the Orlando Magic after an outstanding NBA Summer League.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I really don’t know how Amile Jefferson is not a player who receives consistent minutes on a NBA roster.
However, hopefully that will change in his second go-round with the Orlando Magic as Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that Jefferson and Magic have agreed on a one-year deal brining the former Blue Devil back to Orlando.

Jefferson saw action in just 12 games with the Orlando Magic last season, averaging 2.3 points and 1.8 rebounds per game while getting just 5.2 minutes per game.
The 2015 National Champion has dominated his competition with the G-League this season as a member of the Lakeland Magic, averaging 18.0 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game while shooting 58.3% from the field.
Jefferson spent the 2017-18 season in the G-League with the Iowa Wolves, the G-League affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves, and in the two years combined, the 6-foot-9 forward has played in 81 games, starting 80, and is averaging 17.9 points, 12.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game.
The stellar play of Amile Jefferson continued over the last two weeks in Las Vegas at the NBA Summer League where he played with the Orlando Magic.
In five games, Jefferson averaged 16.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per game while shooting 54% from the floor in 23.8 minutes per game.
The Magic have a crowded front court with Mo Bamba, Aaron Gordon, Nikola Vucevic, and others and it could be tough for Amile Jefferson to find significant minutes through those young rising players.
Jefferson went undrafted in the 2017 NBA Draft and the Orlando Magic have been on the rise with a 42-40 record last season, winning the Southeast Division and making an appearance in the NBA Playoffs, losing in the First Round 4-1 to the eventual NBA Champion Toronto Raptors.
