The NBA Summer League is over and Grayson Allen, the former Duke Basketball star, won the championship along side of his Memphis Grizzlies teammates.
Grayson Allen is a 2015 National Champion and now a 2019 NBA Las Vegas Summer League Champion, not that both of those championships hold the same weight, but the Grizzlies took home the title after beating the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night.
Allen led the way for Memphis with a team-high 17 points in addition to five rebounds and one assists.

The former Blue Devil was 6-for-13 from the field, missing all three of his attempts from 3-point range, but making all five of his free throws. Allen was also tied for the team high in +/- rating with a +8.
Grayson Allen was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies from the Utah Jazz earlier in the offseason, but missed Memphis’ first two Summer League games since the trade was not able to become official until July 6.
Allen also ran into a bit on controversy in Las Vegas after getting ejected in the the ‘regular season’ finale by picking up two flagrant fouls in the contest.
Many across social media and an ESPN color commentator, who will not be named on this site, saw the ejection as an opportunity to try and tarnish Allen’s reputation once again after he was also involved with some controversial actions in his time at Duke.
The Duke legend once again proved he does not listen to the haters and negative comments those say about him online and continued to lead Memphis throughout the Summer League Tournament, ending in Monday’s 95-92 victory.
Grayson Allen also had the game-sealing defensive play on Monday, deflecting an inbound pass down the length of the floor as time expired.
Allen is now paired with his former Duke teammate Tyus Jones who signed a contract with Memphis as a free agent earlier last week.
As the Memphis Grizzlies rebuild, the team will depend on its young former Blue Devils along with other high draft picks to try and lead Memphis to the top of a loaded Western Conference.
