In his debut with his new team, the former Duke Basketball standout Grayson Allen looked comfortable with the Memphis Grizzlies.

It took awhile for Grayson Allen to officially become a Memphis Grizzly, but after the trade between the Utah Jazz and Grizzlies became official on July 6, Allen was added to Memphis’ Summer League roster on July 7.

The Grizzlies staff wasted no time getting Allen up to speed on the team’s game-plan as the newest member of the team was on the floor and in the starting lineup on Sunday night against the Los Angeles Clippers.

In Grayson Allen’s Memphis debut, the former Duke Blue Devils scored 17 points, grabbed two rebounds, and three assists in 22 minutes of action.

The elite scorer and shooter made 6-of-14 from the field and drained all five of his free throw attempts, while missing his lone attempt from beyond the 3-point line.

Memphis was able to use a strong third quarter to create separation from the Clippers and hold on to a 87-75 victory.

The Duke Basketball star was traded to Memphis after just one season in Utah along with his Jazz teammates Jae Crowder, Kyle Korver, and rookie Darius Bazley in exchange for star point guard Mike Conley.

The 2015 National Champion appeared in 38 games for the Utah Jazz in his rookie season, starting two of those games and averaged 5.6 points per game, despite having a very strong end to the season, where he posted his season high 40 points in the regular season finale against the Clippers in the Staples Center.

Utah’s First Round pick, No. 21 overall, in 2018 also saw action in two of the five playoff games the Jazz played in this season.

Grayson Allen and the Memphis Grizzlies will be back in action on Tuesday, July 9, against the Phoenix Suns at 7:30pm EST and the game can be seen on NBA TV.
