The NBA Finals have arrived and the short handed Golden State Warriors had to rely on its bench for positive minutes and the former Duke Basketball star Quinn Cook was ready when called upon.

It not often when the Golden State Warriors can be referred to as an underdog but when the team is on the road for Game 1 of the NBA Finals, hasn’t played in nine days, and without Kevin Durant things weren’t exactly perfect.

However, since the former MVP went down, Steve Kerr has relied much more on his bench for some positive minutes and Quinn Cook has been ready every time his number has been called and Game 1 was no different.

Cook logged nine minutes and scored six points and dished out one assist. The 2015 NCAA National Champion made two of his four attempts from the field, splitting a pair of 3-point attempts, and drilling a free throw.

Entering the game in the second quarter, Cook made his first two shot attempts, a corner 3-pointer, followed by an and-one acrobatic layup.

After missing a contested jumper also in the second quarter, Cook didn’t see the floor until the fourth.

The veteran had a chance to cut the Warriors deficit to just two points, but he missed his wing 3-pointer which led to a Raptors run out and easy dunk, extending its lead to seven.

Toronto went on to win Game 1 by the score of 118-109.

The Warriors did get DeMarcus Cousins back from injury in Game 1, but Durant will not play in Game 2 of the NBA Finals, the Warriors will try and regroup and tie the series up going back to Oracle Arena and steal home-court in the series.

Game 2 will be played from Scotiabank Arena on Sunday, June 2 at 8:00pm EST and can be seen on ABC.
