The current Boston Celtics guard, for now, and former Duke Basketball superstar, Kyrie Irving, was named to the Second Team All-NBA in his second year with the Celtics.

After leading the Boston Celtics to the second round of the NBA Playoffs and the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference, Kyrie Irving was named to the All-NBA Second Team.

In his second year in Boston, Irving averaged 23.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game, while shooting 48.7% from the field and 40.1% from 3-point range.

The former No. 1 pick of the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2011 NBA Playoffs totaled career highs in rebounds with 335, assists with 464, and blocks with 35.

Irving also became just the fourth player in NBA History to average at least 23.0 points and 6.0 assists per game, in addition to shooting at least 48.0% from the field and 40.0% from 3-point range. The former Blue Devil joined the likes of fellow Celtics legend Larry Bird, former Cavaliers teammate LeBron James, and former MVP Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors.

Joining Kyrie Irving as the other guard on the All-NBA Second Team is Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard.

Steph Curry and Rockets superstar guard James Harden were named to the All-NBA First Team while Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Kemba Walker of the Charlotte Hornets were named to the All-NBA Third Team.

Kyrie Irving can become an unrestricted free agent on June 30 and has been rumored to be targeting the New York Knicks, the Brooklyn Nets, and the Los Angeles Lakers if he does not return to Boston.

The Boston Celtics finished with a 49-33 record this season, sweeping the Indiana Pacers in the First Round of the NBA Playoffs and defeating the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 of the Second Round, but then lost its next four games to end its season in disappointing fashion.
