The Duke Baseball team dropped another series this weekend and will limp into the now ever important ACC Tournament next week.

Duke has won three baseball games in May and after a record setting April, the Blue Devils are very much in danger of missing the NCAA Tournament.

This week’s disappointment came in heartbreaking fashion in a mid-week loss on the road against Liberty, followed by another crushing loss in the first game of a three game series against Miami.

The Blue Devils were able to respond, by convincingly winning the second game of the series in Coral Gables, but the Hurricanes would win the series with a victory on Saturday.

After a 13-win month of April helped steady a quickly free falling season, the Blue Devils limped to the finish line with a 30-24 overall record and a 15-15 record in the ACC.

Duke won’t have to travel far at all in the ACC Tournament as the week long tournament will take place at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park starting on Tuesday, May 21.

The Blue Devils come into the ACC Tournament as the No. 7 seed, but in baseball tournament is much different than other sports tournaments.

The ACC takes the Top-12 teams and splits them into four groups, based on record. The team with the best record in each group will advance to the semifinals and then the two semifinal winners will advance to the championship game.

Duke will be joined by the No. 2 seed Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (38-16) (19-11) and the No. 11 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (24-28) (13-17).

The Yellow Jackets are also the champions of the ACC Coastal Division.

This week will be the first time Duke plays Notre Dame this season, but the Blue Devils saw Georgia Tech at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park and the Yellow Jackets flexed its muscles at the plate.

Georgia Tech won the series with a 14-10 win on Friday, a 15-3 win on Saturday, and Duke finding a way to take the series last Sunday, handing the Yellow Jackets a 10-4 loss.

Duke will play Notre Dame on Tuesday at 7:00pm ET and Georgia Tech on Friday, May 24 at 11:00am ET.
