The Golden State Warriors defeated the Houston Rockets in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Friday night as its bench was a huge reason why, espically former Duke Basketball star Quinn Cook.

The Golden State Warriors were the biggest underdog they have ever been in the Steve Kerr era.

They were without Kevin Durant and they were on the road against the Houston Rockets in a game Houston needed to win to keep its season alive.

What did Steve Kerr do to make up for the absence?

Trusted in his bench and stuck to the slogan that the Warriors have developed over the past few years, ‘Strength In Numbers’.

One of those players that Kerr turned to off the bench was backup point guard Quinn Cook.

After only playing a handful of seconds in Games 4 and 5, Cook saw 16 minutes in Game 6 and provided great energy, effort, and hustle for the Warriors.

The former Blue Devil finished the night with two points, two rebounds, three assists, and a steal.

Steve Kerr praised his entire bench in his post game press conference, but singled out Cook and his mental preparation and ability to perform when his number was called after not playing in much of this series.

Cook averaged 7.0 minutes and 3.3 points per game in the First Round against the Los Angeles Clippers.

In addition to his production on the court in Game 6, Cook also had a highlight reel play, crossing up his former Duke teammate Austin Rivers and sending him into the first row.

The Warriors won the series 4-2 and won Game 6 118-113.

Quinn Cook and the rest off the Golden State Warriors will be taking on the winner of Game 7 between the Portland Trail Blazers and Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals starting on Tuesday, May 14, in the Bay Area.
