Duke Football linebacker Joe Giles-Harris has signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent after not being selected in the 2019 NFL Draft.

It was a disappointing three days for the former Duke linebacker, Joe Giles-Harris, but after not hearing his named called in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Nyack, New York native has signed a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent.

The Duke captain racked up 313 total tackles in his career along with eight and a half sacks, two interceptions, and one forced fumble.

Giles-Harris’ was limited to only nine games last season due to injury with his last game coming in a win over Miami in a torrential rain storm in a muddy and sloppy field.

In that game, Joe Giles-Harris 12 total tackles and a half of a sack.

The best game Giles-Harris played in his redshirt junior season came on the road against Georgia Tech where he posted his career high in tackles with 15 in a Duke victory.

Linebacker was not a position of need for the Jaguars coming into the draft and the team did not draft a linebacker in the three days.

Out of the seven picks Jacksonville had in the 2019 NFL Draft, the team used three of those selections on defensive players, including first round pick, No. 7 overall, Josh Allen, an EDGE rushed from the University of Kentucky.

The other two defenders taken by the Jaguars were a safety from Murray State, Quincy Williams, the brother of the No. 3 overall pick by the New York Jets Quinnen Williams, as well as Dontavius Russell, a defensive tackle from Auburn.

The Jaguars selected Williams in the Third Round and Russell in the Seventh Round.

Duke did have one player selected in the 2019 NFL Draft, quarterback Daniel Jones, with the No. 6 overall pick by the New York Giants.
