Two former members of the Duke Basketball team welcomed in the newest Blue Devils on social media on Monday afternoon after the latest commitment.

It seems that the commitment of Cassius Stanley on Monday afternoon rounded out the 2019 recruiting class for the Duke Blue Devils, yet another No. 1 recruiting class.

Including Stanley, the class also includes prized recruits Vernon Carey, Wendell Moore, Matthew Hurt, and Boogie Ellis, as well as preferred walk-on’s Keenan Worthington and Michael Savarino.

Matthew Hurt officially announced his decision to attend Duke last Friday.

Upon Cassius Stanley’s announcement, many of the national sports outlets, including Bleacher Report, posted pictures of the five prized incoming freshmen that will be headed to Durham.

The potential No. 1 and No. 2 overall picks in this June’s NBA Draft, Zion Williamson and R.J. Barrett, noticed the photo and had to welcome the future Blue Devils to Duke, the school that the duo will be leaving after one season.

Both Barrett and Williamson took to their Instagram stories to welcome the players to The Brotherhood.

RJ Barrett and Zion Williamson know what it is like to headline a No. 1 recruiting class at Duke and the pressures that come with it, but the duo was nominated for just about every single high major award this season, with Zion winning all of them and RJ coming in second in a majority of them.

Zion and RJ also thrived on the court leading Duke to an ACC Championship, the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, and falling one point shy of making it to the Final Four as the duo combined to average 45.2 points per game in their freshman seasons.

Obviously Duke has developed and thrived in the the ‘one-and-done’ period of college basketball and probably most of these incoming freshmen have aspirations of playing in the NBA after one season at Duke like Barrett and Williamson will do.

Nonetheless, every player that plays at Duke from here on out will join the Blue Devil family and share a unique bond with RJ Barrett, Zion Williamson, and so many other players in The Brotherhood of Duke.
