It was a historic day in the sports world as Tiger Woods won The Masters and some past and present Duke Basketball players shared their thoughts of the moment on Twitter.

The Twitter world, golf world, and sports world collided for a few hours on Sunday morning into afternoon to witness a historic comeback and pure greatness from Augusta National Golf Club.

Tiger Woods won The Masters in emphatic fashion and all of those around the sports world had to make their feelings known on Twitter, especially some past and present Duke Blue Devils.

First starting with former Duke legend and current ESPN analyst Jay Williams, who was glued to the television as Tiger made his charge up the leaderboard on Sunday.

If you look on former Blue Devils guard Andre Dawkins‘ Twitter, you will see that Dawkins was tweeting about The Masters all weekend, but he could not contain his excitement on Sunday when Woods was in hot pursuit of yet another Green Jacket.

There were so many tweets to choose from for Andre Dawkins as he was and still is celebrating Tiger Woods’ amazing achievement.

Hours before Game 1 of his Eastern Conference Quarterfinals game against the Milwaukee Bucks, former Duke standout and current Detroit Pistons guard Luke Kennard had to make it known of his appreciation and excitement for the victory.

The Jones brothers are always up to date on social media, tweeting and interacting with the latest news and events in the sports and entertainment world and Sunday was no different when Tiger Woods was walking up the 18th fairway at The Masters.

The eldest brother, 2015 National Champion, and current Minnesota Timberwolf , Tyus Jones was in awe of what Woods was able to accomplish this week in Georgia.

Tyus’ brother and still current Blue Devil who will be returning to Durham for his sophomore season, Tre Jones, also congratulated Woods on his victory and echoed the same sentiments as his brother, calling Woods, the “greatest.”

Lastly, Duke Associate Head Coach Jon Scheyer also acknowledged Tiger’s win at The Masters by retweeting this Nike commercial that the company tweeted as soon as Woods made the tournament clinching putt on the 18th green.

To put Tiger Woods’ victory at The Masters into perspective, it was Woods’ first win at the most prestigious tournament in golf since 2005. J.J. Redick just completed his junior season at Duke in 2005.

Woods’ last victory at a Major Championship came in 2008 and in that year, Scheyer completed his  sophomore season at Duke while current Director of Basketball Operations for the Duke Blue Devils, Nolan Smith, just finished his freshman year.

If you know the story and history of Tiger Woods, Sunday was truly a memorable and historic day, one where everyone will remember where they were.
