Duke Basketball: Grayson Allen explodes for 40 points in Los Angeles
The former Duke Basketball superstar, Grayson Allen, exploded for 40 points last night for the Utah Jazz against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Grayson Allen played five games with the Utah Jazz in the month of April, in three of those games Allen set a new career high in points, capping it off with 40 on Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Clippers.
It all started on April 3 against the Phoenix Suns when Allen topped his previous career high of 11 points with 14 points.

The very next game that new career high of 14 points was in the rearview window as Allen poured in 23 points against the Sacramento Kings.
After two games where he only scored a combined seven points, Grayson Allen ended the NBA regular season with a bang with a career high 40 points against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Allen’s 40 points barrage came in an overtime loss, but he went 11-of-30 from the field, 5-of-13 from 3-point range, and 13-of-14 from the free throw line. Grayson Allen also had seven rebounds, four assists, a block, and a steal.
Playing in 38 games in his rookie season with the Utah Jazz, Allen finished the regular season by averaging 5.6 points, 0.6 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game, while shooting 37.6% from the field and 32.3% from 3-point range.
While the game was out of reach, Allen reached the 40 mark plateau by getting fouled on a made 3-pointer and then drilling the free throw.
Grayson Allen was the No. 21 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz after spending four seasons at Duke, helping win the 2015 National Championship and averaging 14.1 points per game over those four seasons.
The Utah Jazz finished with a 50-32 record and will play the Houston Rockets in the first round of the 2019 NBA Playoffs and Game 1 of that series will be on Sunday, April 14, at 9:30pm ET on TNT.
