Duke Basketball: Cam Reddish declares for the 2019 NBA Draft

Another Duke Basketball star is headed to the NBA with Cam Reddish official declaring for the 2019 Draft this June.

The Duke Basketball freshman wing, Cam Reddish, has opted to to leave the Blue Devils after one season and enter his named for the 2019 NBA Draft in June.

Reddish was the No. 3 overall recruit according to ESPN, as he rounded out the the first ever recruiting class with the Top-Three prospects, the others being R.J. Barrett and Zion Williamson.

In his freshman season, Reddish was hampered by some injuries, not playing in the Duke Canada Tour and missing the home game against Syracuse and the Sweet 16 game against Virginia Tech.

On the year, Reddish averaged 13.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 35.6% from the field and 33.3% from 3-point range.

Two of Cam Reddish’s best games as a Blue Devil came in a comebacks road wins over Florida State and Louisville.

Against the Seminoles on January 12, Reddish hit the game winning shot as time expired and finished with 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting and 5-of-8 from 3-point range in addition to three rebounds and three assists.

In perhaps the most memorable comeback in recent Duke history, Cam Reddish led the charge against the Louisville Cardinals with 22 points on 7-of-19 shooting as Duke erased a 23-point second half deficit.

Reddish hit the game tying 3-pointer and game winning free throws to seal the game.

According to an ESPN mock draft, Reddish is projected as the No. 7 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and he joins R.J. Barrett as the other Blue Devil officially leave Durham early.

Fellow freshman Tre Jones has opted to return to Duke for his sophomore season and while the expectation is that Zion Williamson will also enter the NBA Draft, as the overwhelming favorite to be the No. 1 pick, he has not made an official announcement yet.
