The Duke Basketball team is one of the five ACC teams that advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, proving that the Atlantic Coast Conference is the best in college basketball.

If you still had doubts after the ACC had three of the four No. 1 seeds entering the NCAA Tournament, the ACC has five teams in the Sweet 16 coming up this weekend.

The Duke Blue Devils, Virginia Cavaliers, North Carolina Tar Heels, Florida State Seminoles, and Virginia Tech Hokies will all be on display Thursday or Friday night, with the Blue Devils and Hokies facing each other in Washington D.C.

As a whole, the ACC got seven teams into the NCAA Tournament, the other two being Syracuse and Louisville, but both of those teams lost in the Round of 64.

The five ACC teams in the Sweet 16 is the most among any conference leading the SEC and Big Ten, which both have four teams each in the Sweet 16.

North Carolina will be facing the Auburn Tigers, Virginia will face the Oregon Ducks, the highest seed left in the field, and Florida State will be playing the Gonzaga Bulldogs.

Despite getting five teams in the Sweet 16, there were obstacles every ACC team had to overcome to get into this position.

Virginia and North Carolina trailed at halftime to its respective No. 16 seeds, while Florida State was in a battle in the Round of 64 with Vermont. Duke needed a last second missed tip-in to defeat UCF, and Virginia Tech was trailing at halftime and in the second half in its Round of 32 game against Liberty.

No matter the results, the ACC will definitely have one team advance to the Elite 8, but there is the real possibility that half of the Elite 8 will be made up of ACC teams. There is also still a chance that the Final Four is comprised of all ACC teams.

Florida State and Virginia will be in action on Thursday, while Duke, Virginia Tech, and North Carolina will all take the floor on Friday night.
