The Duke Basketball team finished the regular season as the top team in the last Associated Press Top-25 Poll.

The brackets are out, and the Selection Committee has spoken.

The Duke Blue Devils were named as the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, but in addition, Duke soared to No. 1 in the final regular season Associated Press Poll.

Prior to the ACC Tournament, the Blue Devils dropped to a season low No. 5 in the poll, but with the return to Zion Williamson to the Duke lineup, coupled with a dominant three game stretch against Syracuse, North Carolina, and Florida State, there was no doubt who the best team in the county is.

The Associated Press Poll is very similar to the NCAA Tournament bracket, as Duke, Virginia, and North Carolina are the Top-Three seeds in the Tournament and the Top-Three teams in the Poll.

After a loss to St. Mary’s in the WCC Championship Game, the Gonzaga Bulldogs dropped from No. 1 to No. 4 in the Poll and were also named as the fourth No. 1 seed.

Michigan State, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Michigan are ranked No. 5 through No. 9 and those four teams are also the four No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

After defeating the Virginia Cavaliers in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament, the Florida State Seminoles rose two spots in the poll to No. 10.

Not only does the ACC have the Top-Three teams in the NCAA Tournament and in the AP Poll, the ACC makes up 40% of the Top-10 teams in the country, ranked by the Associated Press Poll.

While the AP Poll no longer holds any significance in the college basketball world since the NCAA Tournament is here, it’s still noteworthy that the Blue Devils finished the regular season as the No. 1 team.

The Blue Devils will have to wait until Wednesday night to find out who they will be facing in the Round of 64 in the NCAA Tournament. Duke will get the winner of North Carolina Central and North Dakota State, who play in the First Four on Wednesday at 6:40pm on TruTV.

Duke will then play on Friday night, in Columbia, South Carolina, at approximately 7:10pm ET on CBS.
