Duke Basketball: Blue Devils are No. 1 overall seed in NCAA Tournament
The Duke Basketball team has been named as the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament after winning the ACC Championship on Saturday night.
The Duke Blue Devils are the No. 1 overall seed in next week’s NCAA Tournament.
After defeating the Syracuse Orange the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament, the North Carolina Tar Heels in the semifinals, and then the Florida State Seminoles in the Championship game, the Blue Devils earned a the top seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The Blue Devils were assisted by the losses of the Gonzaga Bulldogs to the St. Mary’s Gaels and the Virginia Cavaliers to Florida State in their respective conference tournaments.
At 29-5 overall and including the ACC Tournament, Duke had a 17-4 conference record, with all four losses coming when the Blue Devils did not have a fully healthy team.
Duke will play the winner of North Carolina Central and North Dakota State in the Round of 64 of the NCAA Tournament.
In the East region, the Blue Devils will play its Round of 64 and Round of 32 games in Columbia, South Carolina and possible Sweet 16 and Elite 8 games in Washington DC, before a potential Final Four and National Championship games in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The No. 8 vs. No. 9 seed in the East Region will feature a former Duke assistant in Johnny Dawkins and the UCF Knights facing the VCU Rams, as the Blue Devils should face the winner of that game.
The Round of 64 will be played on Friday, March 22 and the Round of 32 game will be on Sunday, March 24.
Game times and television networks have yet to be announced for Duke’s NCAA Tournament games.
The Duke Blue Devils are hoping to be fully healthy, getting Marques Bolden back for the Tournament, who is rehabbing a MCL Sprain suffered on March 9 in a loss to the North Carolina Tar Heels.
