Duke Basketball: Blue Devils drop to lowest AP ranking this season
The Duke Basketball team has dropped to its lowest Associated Press Top-25 ranking of the season after a win against Wake Forest and a loss to North Carolina.
It wasn’t the best week for the Blue Devils after barley holding on against Wake Forest at home on Tuesday night and then falling to North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Saturday evening.
After the 1-1 week, the Blue Devils dropped to No. 5 in the latest Associated Press Top-25 Poll, Duke lowest ranking of the season.

The Blue Devils were previously No. 4 in the Preseason Poll as well as in last week rankings.
The Top-3 did not change with the Gonzaga Bulldogs at No. 1, Virginia Cavaliers at No. 3, and North Carolina Tar Heels at No. 3, but it’s the Kentucky Wildcats who jumped the Blue Devils to be ranked at No. 4 this week.
Michigan State, Texas Tech, Tennessee, LSU, and Michigan round out this weeks Top-10.
Along Virginia, North Carolina, and Duke, the other ACC teams that were included in this week’s Top-25 are the Florida State Seminoles at No. 12 and the Virginia Tech Hokies at No. 16.
The Louisville Cardinals and Clemson Tigers were almost include in the poll as both teams received votes, the Cardinals getting 11 and the Tigers getting just three.
This is the last Associated Press Poll that will mean something this season with all of the major conference tournaments starting this week and Selection Sunday coming this Sunday at 6:00pm ET.
The Blue Devils have the No. 3 seed in the ACC Tournament and will play on Thursday night at approximately 9:30pm ET against the winner of the Syracuse and Boston College or Pittsburgh game.
The Virginia Cavaliers are the No.1 seed in Charlotte with the Tar Heels grabbing the No. 2 seed after defeating the Blue Devils on Saturday night, while the Seminoles are the last team to get a double-bye coming in as the No. 4 seed.
