A DVT is also known as a blood clot.
Since the All-Star break, Ingram had been on a tear.
Despite the Lakers poor record since the break, Ingram scored at least 25 points in every single game, with his best outing coming on February 25 in a loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Ingram scored 32 points, six rebounds, four assists, one block, and a steal while shooting 12-of-18 from the field, making all three of his 3-point attempts, and making five-of-six from the free throw line.
The former No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft played his last game this season on March 2 in a loss to the Phoenix Suns and was ruled out each game since then with a shoulder injury until the latest diagnosis.
On the season, Brandon Ingram averaged a career high 18.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists, while shooting also a career best 49.7% from the field and 33.0% from the 3-point line in 52 games this season.
With all the injures the team has suffered this season, the Lakers have practically given up on its chase for the playoffs currently sitting at 30-36 on the season and seven and a half games back of the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference with 16 games left this season.
While no further announcement has been made regarding the treatment of Brandon Ingram’s injury, hopefully he will be ready to go by the start of training camp next season.
