Duke Basketball: Zion Williamson is ‘doubtful’ but status not official yet
There was a status update of the Duke Basketball star freshman Zion Williamson, but his availability for Saturday’s game is still in question.
Mike Krzyzewski provided an update on the status of Zion Williamson on Friday afternoon, but nothing really changed regrinding the freshman who is still rehabbing his Grade 1 knee sprain.
Coach K said that Williamson worked out yesterday on the court and he will again today, but both of those workouts have been without contact.

Krzyzewski didn’t rule Zion out for tomorrow’s game against North Carolina, but he did say that Williamson is “doubtful”, but the team would announce the official status of Zion after tomorrow morning’s shoot-around.
An announcement should come around 11:00am EST.
However, the biggest positive that came out of Mike Krzyzewski’s media availability today is that Williamson was not official ruled out just yet, giving that small sliver of hope that he could play in some capacity tomorrow if he blows the coaches and medial staff away in practice today.
Although Zion Williamson might not play on Saturday night against North Carolina, Coach K was very optimistic that he would be on the court for both the ACC and NCAA Tournaments, saying, “he [Zion Williamson] won’t be doubtful for the tournament.”
Williamson’s injury dates back to February 20 in the first 30 seconds of the first matchup with the North Carolina Tar Heels where Zion tried to drive to the basket but his foot came through his shoe and went down awkwardly around the free throw line.
Including that matchup with the Tar Heels, the Blue Devils are 3-2 without the service of Zion Williamson as the freshman and potential National Player of the Year is averaging 21.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 2.2 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game.
While we wait for the official status of Zion Williamson to be released from the team tomorrow morning, the Blue Devils will travel to Chapel Hill to face the Tar Heels at 6:00pm ET on Saturday and the game can be seen on ESPN.
