Two former Duke Basketball stars were on display in the Bay Area on Tuesday night as the Boston Celtics demolished the Golden State Warriors.

It hasn’t been great to be a Boston Celtic or a Boston Celtic fan since the All-Star Break.

Coming into Tuesday nights game against the Golden State Warriors, Boston had lost five of its last six with rumors and reports surrounding the team about chemistry and free agency.

Well, there’s noting a 33-point victory over the defending NBA Champions on the road can’t fix.

The Celtics thrashed the Warriors, 128 -95 on Tuesday and Boston was led by two former Duke Basketball stars, Kyrie Irving and Jayson Tatum, along with Gordon Hayward, who also has his place in Blue Devil Basketball History.

Hayward finished with a team high 30 points, but Irving posted the lone double-double for the Celtics with 19 points and 11 assists.

Kyrie also added five rebounds and two steals, while shooting seven of fifteen from the field, two of five from 3-point range and was a +20.

Jayson Tatum also stuffed the stat sheet and provided his own major highlight with a chase down block of Kevin Durant.

Tatum ended the night with 17 points, five rebounds, an assist, three steals, and two blocks.

The No. 3 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft made six of his thirteen attempts from the field and one of three from 3-point range.

On the Warriors side, fellow Blue Devil Quinn Cook also had a nice game despite his team’s blowout loss.

Cook posted nine points, three rebounds, and an assist.

The Boston Celtics currently are the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference with a 39-26 record and will continue its west coast trip on Wednesday night in Sacramento against the surprising young and hungry Kings.

Wednesday’s game will be the first time Jayson Tatum and his Duke teammate, Harry Giles, will face each other in the NBA.

The Celtics and Kings will tipoff at 10:00pm ET on Wednesday night.

Blue Devils barley escape Wake Forest at the buzzer. dark. Next
