The Duke Basketball team received some injury great news on Friday morning as Mike Krzyzewski updated the status of point guard of Tre Jones.
Tre Jones was injured in loss on January 14 to Syracuse, but after missing two games it looks like the freshman point guard from Apple Valley, Minnesota may make his anticipated return to the court on Saturday afternoon.
Mike Krzyzewski provided an update on Jones’ status on Friday morning saying, “Tre is probable for this game…He has really progressed well and hopefully he will be ready to go on Saturday”, via the official Duke Men’s Basketball Twitter.
Tre Jones also hinted at a possible return to the court on January 24 on his Instagram page, by posting this late Thursday night.

Jones had been diagnosed with an AC joint separation days after the injury, but after what looked like a scary injury on the court, Coach K ruled Jones out “indefinitely”, but then said that he would be back “sooner rather than later.”
On the season, Jones is averaging 8.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 2.1 steals on the season and has asserted himself as one of the best defenders in the country.
Without Jones on the floor, Duke has utilized some zone defense in its two wins against the then No. 4 Virginia last Saturday and against Pittsburgh on Tuesday night, while a combination of R.J. Barrett, Cam Reddish, and Zion Williamson have all operated the offense at the point guard position.
The return of Tre Jones should give a lift to this Blue Devil team as now players can return to their normal roles which led Duke to a 14-1 record with Jones on the floor for an entire game.
The Duke Blue Devils will face the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets from Cameron Indoor Stadium on Saturday afternoon at 12:00 pm ET and the game can be seen on the ACC Network.
