The Duke Basketball freshman sensation, Zion Williamson, has once again been named as the ACC Freshman of the Week.

For the third time this season the Duke phenom, Zion Williamson has been named as the ACC’s Freshman of the Week.

The Blue Devils went 1-1 this week with a loss on Monday at home to the Syracuse Orange, without Tre Jones and Cam Reddish, along with a home victory over the then No. 4 Virginia Cavaliers while getting Reddish back but still having Jones sidelined with a shoulder injury.

Duke started the week at No. 1 in the Associated Press Top-25 Poll, but after the split decision in the week’s two games, the Blue Devils dropped one spot to No. 2.

As for the star that is Zion Williamson, he was on a mission this week, posting over 25 points in both games.

On Monday, Williamson scored a season high 35 points, 10 rebounds, four blocks, an assist, and steal against Syracuse. He shot 12-of-20 from the floor, yet only one-of-five from 3-point range. However, he did make 10-of-14 attempts from the free throw line.

The 35 points from Williamson broke a Duke freshman single game scoring record that was previously tied last season by Marvin Bagley III and set by J.J. Redick with 34 points in a game.

In the victory over Virginia on Saturday, Williamson chipped in 27 points and nine rebounds, to go along with two steals, an assist, and a block.

Williamson was an efficient 10-of-16 from the floor, but he missed his lone attempt from 3-point range, and struggled from the foul line, only making seven-of-fourteen.

On the season, Zion Williamson is averaging 21.5 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game for the Blue Devils.

Zion Williamson and the rest of the Duke Blue Devils will be back on the court on Tuesday night as the Blue Devils head north to take on the Pittsburgh Panthers at 9:00 pm ET on ESPN and then return home to face the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Saturday afternoon at 12:00 pm ET.
