Duke Basketball: Struggling Syracuse is hoping to respond in Cameron
The Syracuse Orange are coming off of a terrible loss and they will have to put forth its best effort on Monday against the Duke Basketball team.
It’s been a wild ride of a season so far for the Syracuse Orange. The Orange came into the season ranked at No. 16 and got bumped up to No. 15 after the first week of the season, but have yet to make its way back into the Top 25 since.
Syracuse was able to secure two easy victories to start the season before falling to UCONN and the then No. 13 Oregon Ducks. However, the Orange would respond with five straight wins, most notably a win on the road against then No. 16 Ohio State and a home win against rival Georgetown.

The Orange weren’t able to sustain its success with a head-scratching loss at home to Old Dominion followed by another home loss to the then No. 14 Buffalo Bulls.
After two easy victories in its last two non-conference opponents, the Orange seemed to regain its footing winning its first two ACC games with a road victory over Notre Dame and then a home win against Clemson with Georgia Tech coming to the Dome.
The Yellow Jackets went into the Dome and stunned Syracuse, handing the Orange its first ACC loss of the season in a game Syracuse had to win.
Behind the 2-3 zone, Syracuse will come into Cameron Indoor Stadium behind its leader in Tyus Battle.
Battle struggles while shooting the 3-point ball, 28.8%, but still averages 17.1 points per game, along with 3.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.
Elijah Hughes is a new face at Syracuse as the East Carolina transfer is averaging 15.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game to go along with shooting 44.0% from the field and 34.8% from 3-point range.
Oshae Brissett is the leading rebounder for the Orange with 8.0 rebounds per game, but can also provide a scoring punch with 13.9 points and 1.9 assists per game.
The Syracuse Orange and the Duke Blue Devils tip off at 7:00 pm ET from Cameron Indoor Stadium and the game can be seen on ESPN.
